8. Parks and Gardens in Burg

In the Goethe Park there is a large play area and a skating facility.

There is a playground on the Weinberg.

There is a water playground and a play hill in the Flickschu Park.

10. Elbauenpark on the Elbe

The park is geared towards families. Numerous items as animal enclosure, climbing park, sports complex, fitness trail, slide tower, summer toboggan run, ElbauenZip and several playgrounds delight young and old.

15. & 16. Wernigerode Palace and Palace Gardens

Playground and lawn in the pleasure garden.

Adjacent to the former Princely Tiergarten is the Wildpark Christianental with numerous domestic animals, petting zoo, and dining facilities.

Lots for families to see and do; there’s also Wernigerode Palace.

18. Michaelstein Abbey and Abbey Gardens

There are educational museum offers for school classes, groups of children and children’s birthdays on the themes: Enclosure Rooms, Abbey Gardens and the exhibition KlangZeitRaum (SoundTimeSpace).

In addition, there are various activities for children during the holidays, from handicrafts and music-making to herb detectives, as well as the monastery festival with a colourful market on the 1st Sunday in August.

The varied landscape of the park offers much room for exploration and is particularly well suited for children.

34. Wörlitz Palaces and Gardens

Varied park design with different bridges, peacocks on the loose, and gondola rides make a family trip here a special experience. Children (under 16) accompanied by an adult receive free admission to the palace.

36. Pretzsch (Elbe) Palace and Gardens

There is an adventure playground in front of the castle building. There are tables and benches for picnics.

In the rooms of the permanent exhibition there is a children’s area set up in which the little visitors can transform into such people as the lord of the castle and knight Hans Löser or his friend, the reformer Martin Luther.

39. Ostrau Palace and Park

Digital offer: Meet cinema hero "Alfons Zitterbacke".
With the mixed reality app "Set-Caching" it is possible to experience the original film locations of the movie "Alfons Zitterbacke - Endlich Klassenfahrt" up close. The app takes you to six stations on the castle grounds where you have to solve tricky riddles, among other things. The set caching app is available free of charge in the app stores.

50. Moritzburg Palace and Park

The palace park has a large sandbox, water playground, beachvolleyball fields, outdoor chess and an animal park.

Numerous themed gardens, such as an orchard with apiary, a kitchen garden, and the "Green Classroom" offer plenty to do.

In addition, numerous events for families are held.
